Licensed and Provisionally Licensed Clinical Therapist Job Description

Position Overview:

We are currently looking for dynamic, culturally competent therapists who are anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming, social-justice minded, and ready to be  part of an amazing, fun, and collaborative team. The clinical therapist will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Therapists provide virtual and/or in-person outpatient individual and group therapy to clients of The Kelley Center. Clients are thoughtfully matched with therapists based on the therapist’s preferences and area of expertise.  Therapists have the ability to set their own schedule, determine the number of clients they want to see, and maintain clinical autonomy. We provide a steady stream of referrals; competitive compensation; a biller to coordinate benefits/eligibility and submit claims; a virtual assistant who assists with initial contact with clients, sending out intake paperwork,  and scheduling appointments; individual consultation with our Clinical Director; and monthly group case consultation. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and/or group clinical counseling to clients of The Kelley Center, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.

  • Maintain proper license and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for The Kelley Center.

  • Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the The Kelley Center website. Respond to such requests by meeting, evaluating, and providing services to such clients.

  • Communicate with a patient’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as necessary.

  • Timely complete written records for each patient including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by The Kelley Center or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the client within a timely fashion (by Friday of each week).

  • Keep patient files accurate and up to date.

  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and training as directed by The Kelley Center.

  • Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the good will and reputation of The Kelley Center.

  • Conduct required assessments, provide crisis assessment, and intervention services.

  • Passion for working with others and helping our team members grow and learn. Be respectful of, cooperative, and collaborative with co-workers.

  • Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.

  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Align with The Kelley Center mission, vision, and values.

  • Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in counseling or social work.

  • Active, unrestricted license (PhD, PsyD, LICSW, LMFT or LMHC) in the Commonwealth of MA. A copy must be provided to The Kelley Center. Provisionally licensed clinicians and LCSW’s may apply and will be provided with clinical supervision towards their license.

  • Available to hold at least 10 client sessions per week, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by The Kelley Center.

  • Clinicians are able to determine the number of clients over 10.

  • Be organized and detail oriented.

  • a team player.

  • Ability to build trust and strong relationships quickly with clients.

  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients.

  • Be empathetic, patient, have excellent self-awareness and active listening skills.

  • Provide appropriate interventions based on each client’s needs.

  • Be able to work independently on tasks assigned.

  • Have strong written, verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.

  • Stays up to date on best practices in the field.

  • Prior experience in a counseling setting highly preferred.

  • Must be punctual in reporting to work.
